Our TEN WEEK foundation courses are held once per week for one hour; these open level classes offer students the opportunity to build their yoga practice from the ground up. New students and existing students are welcome.
Each class is specifically structured towards learning the elements of hatha yoga, incorporating 'vinyasa': the fluid union of breath and movement, as well as basic alignment, the use of props and some basic yogic philosophy.
With expert guidance by experienced yoga teachers, each week builds on the next; we believe this model of learning and practicing yoga is engaging and empowering for all individuals regardless of age, shape or size.
We encourage students to repeat this series so that you're committing to your regular time slot for you amongst the familiar company of other students! As your confidence and ability grow, options will be offered to for those who wish to progress.
One make up class is permitted at one of our scheduled drop-in classes during the same term of classes by pre-arrangement.
Using physical and verbal alignment queues, students will learn:
Pranayama (breath work)
Surya Namaskara (known as Sun Salutations)
Foundation Standing Postures
Bandhas - Establish Core Awareness
Seated Postures & Twists
Backbends & Inversions
Yin + Restorative Yoga
Each of these elements are sequenced together to culminate in a flowing vinyasa: a moving meditation.
