Mum + Baby Yoga: Postnatal Yoga
Moving you mindfully through postpartum
There is a quiet, profound transition that unfolds after birth —
a soft re-orientation of body, identity, rhythm and self.
Our Mum + Baby Yoga classes are designed to support you through this time with care, intelligence, and connection.
This is not about “getting your body back.”
It’s about reconnecting to your body — slowly, respectfully, and in a way that honours everything it has just moved through.
Alongside you, your baby is welcomed fully into the space —
held within the rhythm of your practice, your breath, your presence.
Why postnatal yoga matters in the fourth trimester
The Fourth Trimester is a time of transition, learning and growth - especially for mums - the first few months after baby is born are a steep learning curve!
Recognising that mums need specialist care following their birth AND that babies thrive with their mother close by, our Mum + Baby Yoga classes have evolved over the last decade to become a sanctuary and space where mums can take rebuild, reawaken, reconnect and lean into rest.
Improves Stamina: Discover conscious rest and how to conserve precious energy to avoid depletion;
Reduces Stress & Anxiety: Mindfulness and breathing, combined with relaxation calm the nervous system - not just for mum, but for baby too!
Boosts Mood: Helps combat postpartum depression and irritability, promoting calmness and positive feelings.
Core + Pelvic Floor Awareness: Learn safe ways to stabilise from the inside out
Builds Community: Connects you with other new mums in a supportive, non-judgmental environment
Encourages Self-Nurturing: Dedicated time to focus on yourself and reclaim your body
Aids Bonding: Mum + Baby classes facilitate bonding through gentle interaction with the baby.
What to expect in class
Truthfully…expect the unexpected! While babies thrive on routine, we can’t predict what will happen ~ this is the essence of motherhood and so we to go with the flow and adapt as needed!
Bloom’s postnatal yoga supports you through:
Welcome Circle + Morning Tea: Meet other mums, stay after class - no need to rush off!
Mindfulness: Breath centred movement to align mind and body
Therapeutic Postures: Reduce anxiety, release tension, and cultivate calm
Time to Rest: Connect with yourself, your baby, and discover the power of rest
Playtime: Baby is incorporated into some (not all) of the postures for fun variations
Baby Massage + Yoga: Touch and movement help baby’s sensory awareness
At Bloom, we believe that by nurturing the nurturer through yoga, mums learn tools
Through gentle, guided practices, you can prepare your body and mind for the journey ahead.

Let expectations soften
What if my baby cries?
We know babies cry — it’s part of how they communicate.
There is no expectation of a quiet class here… only a space where both you and your baby are free to be exactly as you are.
It might be too gentle… will I get enough out of it?
There is a quiet power in less.
Postnatal yoga is intentionally designed to be targeted, intelligent and deeply supportive — often it’s the slower, more refined work that creates the most meaningful change.
Slow is Strong
This season asks for something different.
Your body has moved through something profound.
Postnatal yoga offers a specialised, considered approach — one that honours recovery, respects your body, and builds strength in a way that lasts. There is no rush here.
Is it all about the baby?
Baby is welcome — but the focus is you.
This space is designed to support the mother first —
because when you feel nourished, supported, and resourced… everything else flows from there.
What if my baby falls asleep?
Then you get a moment just for you.
A chance to move, breathe, and reconnect — uninterrupted.
We celebrate these moments just as much as the lively ones.
What if I’m late, flustered, or not quite organised?
You’re already doing enough.
Arrive when you can.
Feed your baby. Change nappies. Take pauses. This is a space where everything is welcome —crying babies, emotional mums, laughter, stillness… all of it.
Can I bring my pram?
Of course.
so you can move with ease, knowing everything you need is right beside you.
More than a class — a community
Motherhood can feel both expansive and isolating.
These offerings are intentionally designed to create connection between women —
a space where conversations unfold, experiences are shared, and support is quietly offered.
Over time, this becomes more than a class —
it becomes a circle of familiarity, understanding, and belonging.
