A training in the art of doing less
Restorative yoga is a radical shift away from the pace of modern life and, often, modern yoga. It asks us to soften, to support the body wisely, and to create the conditions for rest to arise.
In The Art of Rest, you’ll explore how to share restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra in a way that is accessible, intelligent, and grounded in experience. Suitable for both yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners, this training blends yogic philosophy, nervous system education, practical teaching tools, and embodied learning.
Who is this training for
This training is ideal for:
yoga teachers wanting to expand their teaching into restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra
new teachers wanting to build confidence in slower, more therapeutic styles of practice
experienced teachers ready to refine their voice, sequencing, and capacity to hold space
dedicated students and practitioners wanting to deepen their understanding of rest, nervous system regulation, and yogic sleep
What You’ll Explore
This structure is supported by practical hands on components as well as and ongoing self-study and integration through reflection and practices after the training weekend.
-
Connect with principles such as ahimsa (non-harming), metta (loving-kindness), and svadhyaya (self-study), and explore how these shape the intention behind restorative yoga practice.
-
Understand what restorative yoga is, what it is not, and how to guide practices that are purposeful, inclusive, and deeply supportive.
-
Explore the physiological effects of restorative yoga, including nervous system regulation, breath, and the therapeutic value of stillness.
-
Learn how to use props skilfully and creatively to support all bodies, and how to adapt restorative postures for different needs and settings.
-
Create classes that feel spacious, intelligent, and coherent, while learning how to pace and structure a restorative offering effectively.
-
Discover the science and tradition of yogic sleep, the role of sankalpa, the stages of Yoga Nidra, and how Yoga Nidra can be shared both alongside restorative yoga and as a standalone practice.
-
Learn how to write and deliver your own scripts with confidence, clarity, and sensitivity.
